Standing United

The Progressive Nation - Part One

I stand with the nearly 66 million citizens who put their support behind Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election, nearly 3 million more than those who voted for a misogynist bigot. To say I appreciate your strength of conviction, that I sincerely thank you for your intelligence, logic, progressive thinking, and compassion, is a gross understatement. I thank you, on behalf of myself and on behalf of my three daughters, and I thank you on behalf of women worldwide. But it is not enough. We must speak UP, speak LOUDLY, let our voices BE HEARD and never, ever let anyone beat us into submission. This isn’t about disrespecting the presidency. This is about DEMOCRACY. The very nerve of people who try to suppress our protests come from the very same people who support walls instead of peace, who speak of hate, instead of love, who fear immigrants, instead of embracing diversity. It comes from people who consciously or not, dismiss or forget their own immigrant roots. It comes from the very people who would rather turn back the hands of time, and have women lose all the rights, dignity, and strength we have fought so hard to achieve. Not on my watch, and not on yours.

Speak UP

Speak LOUDLY

And let your voices be HEARD

Nearly 3 million more Americans voted for Hillary than for her opponent in this disgrace of an election year and yet, the flawed electoral college has once again put a dark veil over us all - a veil under which we now must find a way to survive. We must stand united more now than ever before, and remind ourselves that there are more Americans who love, than hate, more Americans who are socially progressive, than regressive, and more Americans who will not let their beloved nation return to the dark ages, than those who so willingly let Her fall in light of recent unspeakable events.

This is an awakening to us all - We now know just how deeply divided this nation is, but I must continue to believe that fellow Americans with the strength, intelligence, compassion, determination, and desire to continue to strive for social progress, for women’s rights, for civil rights, for immigrant rights, for basic human dignity worldwide will now work harder than ever before to pull us out of this darkness.

Speak UP

Speak LOUDLY

And let your voices be HEARD

I ask for you to continue the good fight, to turn your tears into voices to be heard, to transform your discouragement into the opportunity to inspire reform, and to never, ever give up - never let ignorance prevail. I ask this on behalf of our sons and our daughters, our sisters, and brothers. I ask this of you and of me, and I stand with you in solidarity.

As for the millions of individuals who thought it a good idea to vote for a man who has consistently worked to push back our nation into darkness, who spent his entire campaign spreading words of hatred, intolerance, ignorance, misogyny, bigotry, and racism, and to those Americans who boldly decided not to vote at all, believing they were being led by their self-righteous moral compass, those who chanted, Bernie or Bust!, I offer you my sympathies - how does it feel to be so blinded, so misguided? I loved Bernie’s platform just as much as did you. I supported him with every fiber of my being. But I am intelligent enough and wise enough to know that once he fell, there was but ONE person to stand behind. Whether you fully supported Hillary’s views or not was no longer the issue. The issue CLEARLY became NOT ALLOWING an egocentric, woman-hating, immigrant-hating, xenophobe to run our country. Do you now see the marches around the GLOBE for women’s rights? Do you now see the outpouring of protest in the wake of the election results? This goes far beyond our borders. This is a GLOBAL issue. This is a HUMAN DIGNITY issue. How does it feel to have missed this entirely? To have missed these very issues that were glaring at you? How does it feel to either hate, hate, hate, or to have knowingly, through passive action, allowed a ruthless dictator into our White House? For those of you in the following states who either voted for this hateful individual, or for those who were proudly part of the Bernie or Bust campaign, I give you the following words of congratulations.

I Congratulate You For Your Ignorance

Thank you, Alabama, for electing a man to office who calls women,

Fat Pigs, Dogs, and Slobs

Thank you, Alaska, for supporting a man who has a track record for misogynistic - veering on violent remarks - including raving about one of his favorite lines in Pulp Fiction:

My favorite part is when Sam has his gun out in the diner and he tells the guy to tell his girlfriend to shut up. Tell that bitch to be cool. Say: ‘Bitch be cool.’ I love those lines.”

Thank you, Arizona and Alaska, for giving the country a leader who refers to women as,

Bimbos, and Aesthetically Pleasing Objects

Let that set in - or do you have the heart and the cognitive ability to do so?

Congratulations, Florida, for electing a man as Commander in Chief who insinuated that men and women in close proximity to each other in the military will always lead to rape:

26,000 unreported sexual assaults in the military-only 238 convictions. What did these geniuses expect when they put men & women together?

Here is Mike Pence, by the way, on the issue of women in the military, along with more Trump hate speech on the same subject:

What’s going on is bedlam - bringing women into the army

Thank you, Georgia, for electing a man to lead the nation who bragged about being a ‘star’ and that this meant he could do ‘anything’ to women, including the freedom to:

Grab them by the pussy

My compliments to you, Idaho, for electing a man to office who announced the following about his daughter, for all the world to hear:

She does have a very nice figure. I’ve that said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.

Felicitations, Indiana, for choosing a man who calls your wives, your sisters, your daughters, and your mothers,

Beautiful pieces of ass

Hail to you, Iowa, for believing in a man who declared that if a woman were to have an abortion:

There has to be some sort of punishment

Yes, he used the word, punishment - Not for men who impregnate the women and then demand and pressure women to abort, not for men who rape women and impregnate them - no - just punishment for women. In one swift statement, he attempts to take away our most basic rights - the right to control OUR OWN BODIES. The very arrogance to speak as an authority on OUR OWN BODIES. BACK the F*CK OFF. NOW.

I salute you, Kansas, for determining this man was fit for holding the highest seat in our country, a man who once told a woman on national television that:

It must be a pretty picture, you dropping to your knees

(He’s so proud of this comment, he’s arrogantly giggling afterward)

I give you great acclaim, Kentucky and Louisiana, for throwing your support behind a man who said of women,

A person who is flat-chested is very hard to be a ’10

Thank you, Missouri and Mississippi, for endorsing a man to lead the country who once said of a 10-year-old girl - Yes, you heard that correctly - a 10-YEAR-OLD GIRL -

I am going to be dating her in 10 years. Can you believe it?

I’ll pause for a moment to let you mull this over, ok? Do you have the cognitive ability? Do you have the emotional reserve?

Well done, Montana and Nebraska, for electing a man to the highest post in the land, who sent American journalist, Gail Collins, a photo of herself with the words:

The face of a dog

Well done, North Carolina, for voting for a man who used vulgar, degrading, sexist, and hateful speech to refer to Hillary Clinton’s defeat to Barack Obama in 2008, saying:

She got schlonged

I applaud you, North Dakota, for helping to empower a man who once said of his political opponent, Carly Fiorina,

Look at that face. Would anyone vote for that?

Thank you, Ohio and Oklahoma, for giving us a president who speculated in public, about what size breasts his then infant 1-year-old daughter might have, stating:

She’s got Marla’s legs. We don’t know whether or not she’s got this part (simulating the groping of his chest) yet but time will tell - I remind you, he was referring to his DAUGHTER, who was 1 YEAR OLD

Congratulations, Pennsylvania and South Carolina, for electing a man to office who has had a trail of sexual misconduct, and has been accused of countless sexual assaults from the early 1980s to the present day - over 30 years of assaulting women - thank you again for this gift

A STRING OF SEXUAL ASSAULT CASES AND/OR ALLEGATIONS OVER A SUSTAINED PERIOD OF TIME CREATES A PATTERN THAT GETS MORE AND MORE COMPLICATED TO REPEATEDLY DENY, AND SIGNIFICANTLY WEAKENS ONE’S CREDIBILITY. I REMIND YOU OF JEFFREY EPSTEIN - Case #18

I hold you in great esteem, South Dakota and Tennessee, for voting for a man who said of his present and past wives,

Unfortunately, after they’re a star, the fun is over for me. It’s like a creation process. It’s almost like creating a building.

Thank you, Texas and Utah, for electing a man who has had social ties with Jeffrey Epstein, a man who is now a convicted pedophile after some 40 teenage girls spoke up. Donald Trump had this to say about Mr. Epstein:

He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it ― Jeffrey enjoys his social life

We are not done with Mr. Epstein.

So, thank you West Virginia, for getting behind a man who has been accused in federal court, as having RAPED a 13-year-old girl at one of Mr. Epstein’s parties.

As a woman, as a mother, and as a victim of sexual assault, I cannot express how deeply this disturbs me. I physically shutter. In every possible way, he has managed to belittle, insult, degrade, offend, and insult every woman around the globe and most especially the women on our own soil. His remarks have clearly defined his disrespect for our personhood to such a degree, that I am left feeling frightened at what lengths he would go to in order to get what he wants.

And you voted for him

Or you failed to vote AT ALL

With either passive indifference or conscious actions, you have deemed this deplorable misogynistic behavior acceptable. He has been reproachable since his earliest days in the public eye, and yet,

You voted for him

Or you failed to vote AT ALL

He has figuratively kicked every woman directly in the gut. He has attempted to strip us of our very dignity and judges us all solely on our age and physicality. It is the year 2017. It is the year 2017!

And you voted for him

or you failed to vote AT ALL

For the Bernie of Bust people, for the people who didn’t vote at all because you considered it a waste or your time and contrary to your moral compass, how do you feel now? Was it a waste of your sister’s time? Your daughter’s time? Your wife’s time? Your mother’s time?

Not quite clear enough? I know you need extra time to absorb information, so let me put it all into perspective for you, shall I?

READ, if you can, the timeline of this GREAT NATION and of its POWERFUL WOMEN, and learn about all WE have accomplished by standing STRONG, speaking UP, and never, EVER giving up. This hateful man’s actions and words HAVE NO PLACE in our nation! They have NO PLACE in our homes, they have NO PLACE in OUR White House!

Shame on all of you who either voted for this disgrace of a man, or for not having voted at all. Shame on all of you who tried to bring us down. You own this and we all now pay the price.

I ask you all - Where do we go from here?

CIVIL RIGHTS CASE #3 - "The Blacks" (For the record, Pat Buchanan is a complete racist moron. Just listen to his final words. SERIOUSLY dude?!)

This is but a start to Article #2. Stay tuned and support my efforts.
